How our line-up is put together

The list above is grouped the way people actually search: by the country a channel broadcasts from, and by what you would sit down to watch. A channel can appear in more than one place — a UK sports channel counts once under United Kingdom and once under Sports — so the group totals add up to more than the headline figure.

Sport is the reason most people switch

Sport is our largest single category after general entertainment, and it is where a traditional cable package costs the most. Domestic league football, the Champions League, Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, NFL, NBA, UFC, boxing and Formula 1 are all carried live. Major events run on several parallel feeds, so if one is congested you can switch to another mid-match without losing the game.

Quality depends on the source feed

Channels are delivered in the highest quality the broadcaster provides — 4K where it exists, otherwise FHD, HD or SD. Flagship sport and film channels are typically FHD or 4K; smaller regional and news channels are often HD or SD at source, and no IPTV provider can improve on the original signal. A 25 Mbps connection is enough for 4K, and around 10 Mbps is comfortable for FHD.

The line-up changes constantly

Broadcasters add, rename, merge and retire channels every week, and we track those changes daily. That means the counts on this page are a snapshot rather than a contract. If a specific channel is the reason you are subscribing, message us its exact name before you buy and we will confirm whether it is carried right now — that takes a minute and saves a refund request later.
